An impressive ceremonial Tyler sword (also spelled Tiler) that brings together traditional Freemasonry symbolism and an elegant red, gold and silver design. Built as a decorative display piece, it features a 440 stainless steel blade, an ornately detailed gold-colored hilt and pommel, a red velvet-covered handle and a wooden shield plaque for a stylish presentation.

With an overall length of ±115 cm and a ±100 cm blade, this sword makes a commanding impression on the wall. The red velvet, gold-colored metal, polished silver-toned steel and warm natural wood combine into a distinguished, timeless whole.

This model features a straight blade – the form commonly used for the Tyler in many Lodges in practice. At its heart sit the Square and Compasses, complemented by traditional Masonic motifs across the hilt and pommel.

The role of the Tyler
The Tyler is traditionally the Brother who guards the entrance to the Lodge – often the first person a candidate meets during an initiation. The sword has been linked to this guardian role for centuries, symbolising protection and vigilance. Historically the Tyler sword appeared with both a flaming and a straight blade; the flaming form echoes the flaming sword described in Genesis, while the straight blade also became common in many Lodges over time.
