A striking ceremonial Tyler sword (also spelled Tiler) with the most distinctive detail of all: a wavy, flame-shaped blade in the flamberge style. This classic form has long been associated with the Tyler sword and makes this piece a genuine eye-catcher. The combination of red velvet, gold-colored Masonic detailing, a silver-toned stainless steel blade and a wooden shield plaque gives it a distinguished, ceremonial appearance – perfect for Freemasons, Masonic Lodges and collectors.

The flame-shaped blade
The undulating, flame-shaped blade is the heart of this design. Historically, Tyler swords were associated with a wavy or "flaming" blade. Masonic sources connect this form with the flaming sword that, according to Genesis, guarded the entrance to the Garden of Eden and the way to the Tree of Life. Nineteenth-century Masonic writings even described the Tyler's sword expressly as representing a flame. The shape also recalls the historic European flamberge, a sword type with an undulating blade – which is why the term suits this piece so well.

The Tyler is traditionally the Brother who keeps watch outside the closed door of the Lodge and controls access to the meeting. The sword is therefore closely tied to the symbolism of protection and vigilance.
